Today is the Most Important Day of Your Life!

Today is the most important day of your life! I don’t know who is reading this right now,  I don’t know when you are reading it, and I can’t possibly know your circumstances. So how can I know that today is the most important day of your life? Because today is the most important day of your life every day!

Why is today the most important day of your life?

  • Today is your only point of action and power. You can’t take action yesterday, and you can’t take action tomorrow. You can only take action today.
  • You only have one shot at making today a great day. Once the day is over, it is gone forever. You can’t get it back. This makes today a very important day.
  • You can’t do anything about yesterday, and tomorrow never comes. You can’t change the past, and you can only think about what you are going to do tomorrow. Sometimes we spend so much time regretting yesterday and worrying about tomorrow that we don’t enjoy today.
  • Your days are limited, which makes every day very important. The unavoidable truth is that each day that passes leaves us with one less day to live. Doesn’t that make today pretty important?
  • Tomorrow is an excuse to waste today. When we don’t recognize the importance of today, we tend to defer our happiness and procrastinate on taking action that would make our lives better.
  • Today determines tomorrow’s starting point. Tomorrow you can start from a higher point or a lower point, and it all depends on what you do today.

I’ve already used up 14,906 of the days of my life. When I think back on my life, I spent far too many days unhappy, or in a bad mood, or working at jobs I didn’t like, or wasting the day in any number of ways. When I think about how important each and every day is, it seems a little foolish. It is not always easy to really appreciate each day. We begin to take life for granted. It’s a mistake that too many of us make  — until it’s too late.

So what do you have planned for the most important day of your life?
